Jim Hart joined CTAS in January 2008 and was named manager of field services in April 2022. He began his career in corrections in 1975 while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. His 22-year career was spent working in five different Marine Corps correctional facilities, operating correctional custody (boot camp program for minor offenders) and as the director of Marine Corps Corrections.
Upon his retirement in 1997, Jim became jail captain for Hamilton County and was responsible for day-to-day operations. Later, he was promoted to chief of corrections and was responsible for the overall operation of the jail.
He is a Certified Jail Manager with the American Jail Association and a Certified Corrections Executive with the American Correctional Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Park College and a Master of Arts in leadership and public service from Lipscomb University.
