Becky Smeltzer, Technical Services Librarian

Becky Smeltzer is the Technical Services Librarian for The University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS). She has spent most of her professional life as a Librarian at the University of Tennessee and with Knox County Public Libraries.  In 2001, she joined MTAS, where her primary focus is in maintaining the content of the MTAS Research and Information Center databases. She is committed to improving staff development, as well as instructional services for her library’s users. Becky holds a Ph. D.

Frances Adams-OBrien, Librarian

Frances came to MTAS in 1999 from the Ringling School of Art and Design where she served as the Technical Services Librarian. This position provided many challenges as the library was bringing all operations up to industry standards and Frances's goal was the bring the technical services operations in line with the latest practices and standards.Prior to that she was the assistant director for technical services for Sarasota County Public Libraries and, for short stint, Frances was a reference librarian at the Tampa Public Library in the business and science reference section.

Liz Gossett, Information Specialist II

Liz Gossett, E-Media and Information Specialist, joined CTAS in September 2012. Prior to joining CTAS, Liz was a research associate for the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Long Range Planning Division. She is originally from the Atlanta area and received a bachelor of science in 2007 in urban policy studies and a bachelor of arts in sociology in 2005, both from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Liz received her Master of Science in Information Science from The University of Tennessee in May 2015.
